The Alpha Chi Chapter was founded on May 9th, 1954. Our big sister chapter is the Sigma Chapter at Arizona State University. We were chartered at the same time as our brother chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, Gamma Kappa. We are a part of the Western District of Tau Beta Sigma.
Alpha Chi Fun Facts Our chapter has hosted the Western District Conference In 1982, 2002, and 2012. We hosted National Convention in 1997 and 2009 in cooperation with the Gamma Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the Omega Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, and the BO chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
We were selected as a top ten chapter during the 1975-1977, 1981-1983, and 1995-1997 National Conventions. We were chapter of the year of the western district in 1998 and 2013. To join the Alpha Chi chapter
Members must be involved in the Northern Arizona University Band Program in some way. During both the fall and spring semesters, students interested in joining are encouraged to attend recruitment events. Individuals that have the strengths and qualities found in Tau Beta Sigma are then invited to participate in the Membership Candidate process.
